Chapter Eighteen: Congratulations, You Made It This Far.

Addison grew.  Bob settled into his new role at work.  Ainsley entered her last year at school and began preparing to sit her final exams.

Eliza spent plenty of time with the girls.  She also wrote another book.  This one called "Meals I have met" which was a collection of interviews with fisherman, farmers and sometimes, their charges.

Ainsley turned eighteen.  On the day of, Bob had an emergency at work and Eliza did have a presentation to management that she couldn't get out of.  They still had a cake.  Eliza turned to something Addison said and missed the moment when Ainsley blew out her candles.

 Candles off, Ainsley cut the first piece of cake and quickly claimed it for herself, despite demands from Addison in the highchair.  Ainsley's phone went off frequently with well wishes.  Eliza tried to reason with Addison.

 Then it was present time.  The Pancakes got Ainsley some nice jewellery, a little make-up, some new books.  "There's one more surprise that was a little large to wrap."

Ainsley with thrilled with her new guitar.  She tried it out immediately, having been studying the basics at school.  Music was a big part of Ainsley's life and she imagined the places this instrument would take her.

That weekend, the Pancakes made it up to Ainsley with a proper party.  Everybody laughed when Addison got to these candles first, because Bob made the mistake of holding her too close to the table.

It wasn't long after, that Eliza and Ainsley ate breakfast together on her last day of school.  Then it was only the anxious wait for the exam results.
